For this week session, I learned few more tricks to use Photoshop for the mood board. Afterward, we moved on to review session. Reflecting, starting with doing what is necessary like creating new paper with ideal width, height, resolution and color mode. Then, subsequently thinking of what is possible and choosing the right tool to create it. This exercise pushed us to expand our mind and to think creatively without excluding any thoughts as impossible during our design process. I will keep an open mind in the future because nothing is truly impossible as we learned from the activity. As for now, there are still many more functions in Photoshop for me to explore and master with what I have learned. For my future art pieces, I should always translate it into the essence of art ideas like creating the mood board first by using technology - Photoshop.

Week Three
For this session, I learned to use Photoshop and create Mood Board. The Mood Board helps us to convey our ideas by arranging images, materials, pieces of text together and form particular style and concept. It's a great way to channel our design ideas. As fashion student is important for us to create mood board as reference point and present our ideas to others. Mood boards allow others to 'get inside our heads' to explain a design much easier, simply be a wealth of visual material to kick-start the process of creativity rather than verbally communication.
At first, we started off with transforming new page into landscape with Photoshop. The Mood Board was formed by adding background and images given by our lecturer. In the process of producing the Mood Board, I had to edit and manipulate images to make the Mood Board more interesting and visually appealing. I think the most important part of the final outcome is to convey our ideas clearly.

There are various types of mood board. It's like a 'scrap book' made from images, materials, pieces of text together, fill with ideas and thoughts capable of doing many different jobs.

Week Two
For this session, I learned more about graphic basics.
For the class exercise, I learned to use four basic tools from Photoshop, such as Move Tool, Rectangular Marquee Tool, Lasso Tool and Quick Selection Tool by eliminating numerous backgrounds of different runway models.
Firstly, the Move Tool allows me to move a selection of runway models by dragging it with mouse. When the Move Tool is selected, I am able to click and drag anywhere of the selected section and entire layer.
Secondly, the Rectangular Marquee Tool along with Elliptical Marquee Tool, Single Row Marquee Tool and Single Column Marquee Tool hidden inside more options bar. They are designed for making selections based on simple geometric shapes. As the name implies, the Rectangle Marquee Tool is perfect for times when I need to draw a selection of the runway models in the shape of a rectangle and square.
Thirdly, Lasso Tool with Polygonal Lasso Tool and Magnetic Lasso Tool hidden inside more options bar. These tools allow me to extend my selection making abilities into the exciting world of ovals and circles which made my job to select the runway models and remove the background much accurately and easily.
Lastly, Quick Selection Tool with Magic Wand Tool as hidden feature. It's a excellent choice for selecting areas of similar tone and collar. However, I did not find them useful as images that I had chosen for this exercise had similar tone of runway models and the backgrounds. So it was uneasy for me to make selection with Quick Selection Tool.
All the above mentioned tools have their own keyboard shortcuts that's something I have to remember.
After today's session, I felt more confident to convert my fashion ideas into reality in methodical way using Photoshop. As such, I hope to fully utilize Photoshop in my future fashion design art pieces so that I can bring my artwork to the next level. It's essential for fashion student like myself to learn and master this skill in order for me to express out my ideas and designs using computer.
To enhance my skills with Photoshop, I did more practices on my Mac.

Research
For my research, I found out the differences between Photoshop, Elements ang Lightroom.
Photoshop CS6/ CS6 Extended is more expensive than Photoshop Elements and Photoshop Lightroom.
Photoshop Elements is designed for beginner who are just getting started with digital photo editing, and delivers powerful yet easy-to-use options that help to organize, edit, create and share.
Photoshop CS6/ CS6 Extended are more professional standard for creating and manipulating powerful images, and 3D images and objects. However, both these versions have been replaced by Photoshop CC with additional features compared to CS6.
Photoshop Lightroom addresses the workflow needs of professional and serious amateur photographers, enabling them to import, process, organise, and showcase large volumes of digital photographs quickly, or develop a single image. (Photoshop Inspiration, Photoshop Information)
After knowing the difference between these products, I gained more knowledge and knew the right product for me to choose as a fashion student.
